President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. The proclamation declared that all persons held as slaves within the rebellious states are, and henceforward shall be free.(NARA).

It is to a fault stated in The Declaration of Independence presented to Congress January 18, 1777, that nation have the right to freedom and choice.



The Declaration of Independence states:

and organizing its powers in such Form,

as to them shall seem most possible to effect their Safety and Happiness( NARA).

Choice is very important touch off of our country. If we allow the Government to start interfering with our freedom of choice, where will we end up?
