Utilitarianism: A Matter of Scale

As a self-avowed tribalist, I find myself inexorably drawn towards the basic tenant of Utilitarianism, or The Greatest Happiness Principal (Stuart, p9): Through calculation of the consequences of an intend action, determine and pursue the action that result in the greatest overall happiness of the greatest number of people, not unspoiled iodinself.
